Founded by Erik Bright and Alex Klenert, the company offers a fresh perspective on the publicity expectations of their clients by teaming an experienced agency publicist and a seasoned independent distribution executive.

Prodigy PR's principal partners have specialized in the representation of publicly owned companies, production companies, indepenent producers, and filmmakers for over a decade. We cover the spectrum of traditional trade and business media outreach for domestic and international PR campaigns including on-going industry profile management, corporate communications, investor relations, and overseeing production publicity campaigns that run from pre-production through release.

FILM FESTIVALS AND MARKETS

Individual films have a small window in which to shine at major global film festivals and markets. Prodigy is intentionally selective in the movies it represents, to ensure maximum media attention and quality visibility. We are present at all major film festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Tribeca, Berlin, Venice, and SXSW, and markets such as AFM, EFM, and MIPCOM.

 

With a targeted plan, our goal is to bring the top buyers, influencers, and media into each screening, helping to maximize every opportunity for sale and exhibition. Prodigy is experienced in coordinating junkets, working with representatives of actors and filmmakers, planning and executing festival events and parties, and finding appropriate facilities and sponsors for all functions.

UNIT PUBLICITY

At its core, unit publicity is about positioning a film at its earliest stage and preparing it for the journey from production to distribution.

 

Prodigy's current projects include "All is Lost" (pre-production) starring Robert Redford, "Look of Love," (post-production) with Annette Benning, Ed Harris, and Robin Williams; "Kill Your Darlings" (post-produciton) with Daniel Radcliffe, Elizabeth Olsen, Michael C. Hall, Ben Foster, Dane DeHaan, Jennifer Jason Leigh, David Cross, and Kyra Sedgwick; and "Vipaka" (post-production) starring Forest Whittaker and Anthony Mackie. Our most recent productions that are currently in release include the Independent Spirit Award-winning "Margin Call," starring Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Demi Moore, Zachary Quinto, Jeremy Irons, and Stanley Tucci; and The Double starring Richard Gere, Topher Grace, Stephen Moyer, Stana Katic, and Martin Sheen. 

 

Prodigy PR will work with you to draft and service the initial start of production announcement with the press; determine EPK schedule and coordinate with talent and reps to schedule interviews around production; strategize with filmmakers on media coordination and outreach; create all of the necessary materials including the press kit; and oversee and deliver a final package of photo approvals and kills from the talent in the film.

 

Bright's previous unit publicity credits range from award-winning indie films such as "Crash," "Sideways" and "Little Miss Sunshine" to big budget studio projects such as Disney's "Invincible" and MGM's "Flyboys."

RELEASE CAMPAIGNS (Theatrical, DVD, VOD, Literary)

Prodigy PR's fully-staffed publicity and marketing team goes above and beyond the call of standard theatrical releases, and will assist you every step of the way-from getting your film acquired, marketing to audiences, or seen by major critics and media outlets. Our publicists are agency and studio trained and can handle national and/or regional media outreach for any sized project. The company will also assist in developing your press kit, the development and production of an EPK (Electronic Press Kit), as well as strategizing on placement of the trailer and exclusive content.

 

We have developed campaigns for many independent films and have provided support to major studio content. Recent accounts have included day-and-date openings for Spike Lee's "Red Hook Summer," "Goats," "In Our Nature," "The Tall Man," "The Road," "The Trouble with Bliss," "The Double," "Tomorrow When the War Began," "Sarah Palin: You Betcha," "Douchebag," "The Family Tree," "The Romantics," "Killing Bono," "Corman's World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel," and "Carol Channing: Larger than Life."

 

DVD releases have included "Jig," "Swinging with the Fenkels," "From Time to Time," and "Fubar: Balls to the Wall."

 

Previously, Prodigy's principals have facilitated coverage on a broad range of films including Academy Award-winning movies including "Margin Call," "Taxi to the Dark Side;" Academy Award-nominated films "Half Nelson," Werner Herzog's "Encounters at the End of the World," and "Murderball;" critically acclaimed indie films such as "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead," "The Aristocrats," "Strangers with Candy," "Who Killed the Electric Car?," and "...So Goes the Nation;" tent-pole studio pictures including Disney's football drama "Invincible" and MGM's World War I epic "Flyboys."

 

Prodigy has also managed publicity campaigns for literary works that range from graphic novels such as "The Reconcilers" to novels such as "The Twelve" and "Yndico, Is." Our media outreach for these projects include reviews, interviews for the authors and distributors, in addition to liaising with the publishing trades.

SPORTS

Prodigy Sports is focused on representation of movies, television programs, and organizations that operate in the world of sports.  The division has run fully integrated sports campaigns for the theatrical, DVD, and awards campaign for Steve James' "Head Games" documentary about concussions, the theatrical and DVD release of the basketball documentary Elevate," the theatrical release for the feature film "Heleno", the theatrical release for "Ballplayer: Pelotero," the theatrical release of the bare-knuckle documentary “Knuckle,” the DVD release of the horse racing mockumentary "And They're Off,"and the theatrical release for the soccer documentary "After the Cup: Sons of Sakhnin United," as well as numerous DVD releases in association with the Bombo Sports & Entertaniment and the NBA: "2010 NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers DVD", "2012 NBA Champions Miami Heat DVD", "Wired: A Season Inside the NBA", and "NBA A-Z: NBA's Best Bloopers, Highlights and Hijinx."

 

Prodigy Sports is overseen by company principal Alex Klenert and supported by a team of publicists with background in both sports and PR. By meeting sports fans where they live, Prodigy Sports is able to meet the initiatives for sports clients in television, radio, online, print and the blogosphere.
